Silicon steel sheet
Silicon steel sheet
Also known as electromagnetic steel sheet, it has good magnetic conductivity properties and is a silicon-containing alloy steel. By adding silicon element, the iron loss generated by the motor during operation can be reduced. In the field of electrical machinery such as motors and generators , transformers, etc. all need to use silicon steel sheets as the path for magnetic conduction.
Material properties of silicon steel sheets
The silicon content of the silicon steel sheet falls between 0.5 and 3wt% depending on the application and demand. Adding silicon element can increase the resistance of the electromagnetic steel sheet, thereby reducing the eddy current loss in the iron loss value. The material grain size of the silicon steel sheet will affect the hysteresis loss in the iron loss value. The larger the grain, the easier it is to magnetize and the smaller the hysteresis loss. The smaller the grain, the harder it is to magnetize and the greater the hysteresis loss. The thickness of the silicon steel sheets punched out after rolling is also related to the eddy current loss. When the thickness of the silicon steel sheets is thinner, the eddy current loss is lower, but the mechanical strength of the stacked silicon steel sheets will be relatively poor, because the motor can be used in There are many different occasions, so the material properties of silicon steel sheets need to be chosen.
Types of silicon steel sheets
It can be divided into directional and non-directional. Directional silicon steel sheets have particularly excellent magnetic properties along the rolling direction, while the magnetic properties in other directions are weak. They are suitable for use in large transformers; non-directional silicon steel sheets , the magnetic ability in any direction is relatively uniform, and non-directional electromagnetic steel sheets are suitable for use in motors and small transformers.
